It all begins with a detailed discussion where we carefully listen to your desires and expectations. Subsequently, we perform a detailed technical analysis to determine the optimal solutions, evaluating materials, dimensions, and necessary features.

At Compunav, the naval architecture process moves seamlessly from a validated concept to a production-ready package. Through our methodology, every client requirement is transformed into a solid, compliant, and safe vessel design, built on first principles and advanced analysis.
It all begins with the Concept Validation stage, where we systematically evaluate the feasibility of the design, focusing on performance and operational objectives.
Once validated, the project enters the engineering phase, which covers accurate weight estimation, hydrostatic and stability calculations, resistance and powering predictions, and propulsion system selection. At the same time, we integrate class society rules and flag state regulations from the outset, ensuring compliance is embedded naturally into the design.
Our process brings together parallel streams such as hull form optimization, structural analysis, and machinery space planning, with close coordination across all engineering disciplines. The result is a cohesive design, delivered on schedule and to the highest standards.
Throughout the process, our core and non-negotiable priority is seakeeping and overall seaworthiness. We go beyond minimum stability criteria, designing vessels for their actual service profile. We carefully assess hull seakeeping, stability reserves under intact and damaged conditions, freeboard adequacy, weather deck safety, and the reliability of closing appliances and safety systems.

Compunav provides expert structural engineering for steel, aluminum, and composite hulls. Our portfolio covers a diverse range of vessels, from lightweight, high-speed craft to robust displacement yachts designed for ocean navigation.
The structural design process defines the material specifications and scantlings for the hull, deck, and superstructure plating and stiffening. This process culminates in the delivery of a fully developed construction plan.
Material selection is guided by the vessel’s operational profile and performance requirements. All structural development follows the principles of sound naval architecture, with scantlings calculated to meet or exceed the rules of the relevant classification society and validated against the chosen production methodology.
Beyond standard rule-based calculations, we routinely apply direct calculation methods such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimize structural efficiency and performance.
It is important to emphasize that defining materials and scantlings is only a preliminary step. The essence of our structural design lies in the seamless integration of requirements from all other onboard disciplines. While naval architecture establishes the foundational layout, achieving a fully integrated design that unifies structure, interiors, and systems requires a high level of cross-disciplinary experience and technical expertise.
